We deal in large legacy computer equipment  most out of public grant programs from schools, we are helping the state by re purposing equipment now required by law.  Shipping is costly and we spend more on it than we collect back, some of these items are large and heavy.   We have adjusted most of our items to include free shipping we couldn't do that with bulky items. This is a listing for a working HP 4952A Protocol Analyzer with 18179A interface panel. This is a surplus item out of an industrial shop Texas instruments.  It has a bunch of ribbon cable assembly's for logic outputs in a bag on top. In good overall shape. Unit functions and runs thru tests but we have no way to test it here, but have had very good experience with other test equipment we get from this client.    We have 1 of these.  We have  this, and lots of other good computer surplus items.  We have a huge inventory of PC Legacy parts of all types, and surplus items from HP, Compaq, Dell, & Gateway in our storage.  Email us with any special requests. HP 4951C and HP 4252A (64 kbps synchronous 19.2 kbps asynchronous) is a portable protocol analyzer used for troubleshooting during installation, maintenance and design of data communications networks and equipment.
Applications
The HP4951C and HP4952A allow you to monitor and decode data transmission, test remote facilities from your location, simulate network components, and perform bit error rate tests. They can also be used as asynchronous terminals.
Protocols that can be tested include Async, BSC, SDLC (NRZI), HDLC, X .25, SNA, DDCMP and user-defined protocols as well.
Datacom Solutions
With specialized software, the HP4952A can be transformed into a statistical performance analyzer for the link level (level 2) of SNA and X.25 networks (SDLC and HDLC respectively). The HP 18264A provides link level statistics for the HP4952A.
This solution provides a new way for network troubleshooters to look at data communications links. Key link events indicate the health of the network and are displayed in both columns and bar charts. These statistics can be stored to disc and reviewed at a later time. Printer capability is provided when hardcopy results are necessary
