Description
Beautiful Norman Rockwell 19th century porcelain doll, "The Sampler," by the Danbury Mint, in original box. This doll was introduced in 1989, and retailed for 5.00. This doll was inspired by a Saturday Evening Post cover by Norman Rockwell. She is a copy of a 1824 work by a 15 year old girl named Phoebe Ann Small.This doll is 15" high. She is wearing an off the shoulders white ruffled dress with a floral print. There is white lace trim on her shoulders and edges of sleeves, and green velvet ribbon trim around dress. She is wearing a painted brooch pinned to a green velvet ribbon around her neck. She is wearing dainty black fabric slippers, and white lace patterned stockings. She has beautiful golden brown hair pulled back and curled. This doll comes with a green velvet quilted foot cushion. Also a upholstered chair, and a wicker basket with miniature skeins of yarn, and a wooden embroidery frame on a wooden podium. Please see picturesLast picture borrowed to show doll out of plastic
