Description
This is a combination kit that contains both the interface PC board and the Control Panel Kit for the Clough42 Lathe Electronic Leadscrew controller.The goal of the project is to replace the change gears or gearbox on a metalworking lathe with a stepper motor controlled electronically based on an encoder on the lathe spindle. The electronic controller allows setting different virtual gear ratios for feeds and threading.

If you purchase this combo kit, you don't need to purchase the above kits separately.
Booster Pack Interface PC Board
This PC board mounts on a Texas Instruments LaunchXL F280049C prototyping board and provides connections for power, an encoder, a display and keypad, and a stepper or servo driver to drive the lathe's leadscrew.
Included in this package:
ELS Boost v2.1 PC board assembly
Power connector
Two (2) 2x10 female header connectors
Two (2) 5-pin right-angle headers
One (1) 6-pin servo connector
One (1) 6-pin servo screw terminal plug
Through-hole soldering is required to attach the provided connectors to the PC board.
Important: solder the power connector first
; it's hard to do after the servo connector is added.
To complete the project, you will also need a LaunchXL prototyping board, encoder, servo or stepper with driver, and other hardware. None of this additional hardware is included. See the documentation on GitHub and the YouTube videos for more information.

Control Panel Kit
This is the control panel kit for the Clough42 Lathe Electronic Leadscrew controller.
This kit contains the front panel, display and button board and 3D printed parts for assembly. To complete the project, you will need other parts, including a Texas Instruments LaunchXL F280049C, a motor, a driver, etc.

3D printed PCB mounting spacer (ABS)

Four (4) M3x16 button head screws
Four (4) M3 nylon lock nuts
Four (4) #6-32 button head screws
You will need to desolder and replace the 5-pin header on the front of the display PC board so it will fit behind the front panel.
